Assen Petrov, the young videographer of Bulgaria's most popular sports website, sportal.bg, has been found dead in Serbia's capital, Belgrade, The Standart has learnt.
His family last heard from him at the end of last week, when he headed to Serbia with a group of friends.
For a few days, Petrov's sister posted appeals for information about him on his Facebook profile.
According to unofficial information, the young man was found dead in Belgrade as early as on January 6th.
Speaking on Darik Radio, Bulgarian police chiefs declined to comment on the case with the argument that it is in the jurisdiction of the Foreign Ministry.
Last night, the Bulgarian police said in a statement they had received information from their colleagues in Belgrade, revealing that Assen Petrov had been found dead and that an investigation was ongoing.
Forensic scientist are yet to establish the cause of death.
