One of the Two Bulgarian Women Arrested in Turkey Has Just Been Released

(July 28, 2017, Sofia) - One of the two Bulgarian women arrested in Turkey on suspicions of participation in terrorist activities, was released late last night.

Reportedly, the woman called Bulgaria's consul in Ankara to inform him of her release from custody.

Her daughter, however, is still being questioned by the Turkish anti-terrorist authorities.

Meanwhile, the prosecutor on the case has sent a fax to Bulgaria's General Consulate in Istanbul, in which he writes that he has not found any legal grounds for keeping the two Bulgarian women behind bars.

The Bulgarian and Turkish authorities are working to clarify the circumstances that led to the two women's detention. Most probably, they were arrested by mistake.
