Sofia. The Neolithic man from village of Krum (Dimitrovgrad) and the Gold of the Getae of the Omurtagov mound are the two archeological discoveries which are going to the runoff of the Top 20 Wonders of Bulgaria.
The aim of the vote, organized by Standart, is to find the Top 10 greatest archeological findings of the new millennium in Bulgaria.
So far, the prehistoric skeleton discovered in 2009 in the area of Car won the first stage of the referendum with a slim lead over the Thracian tomb of Sveshtari. The camps of both sites were actively voting: while the Thracian treasure was leading by 260 votes at 7.00 pm on Sunday, the fans of the Neolithic man pushed the '''vote'' button so actively that they rocketed their favourite to the first place by midnight.
The bronze medal was taken by Provadiia – Solnitsata, the oldest city in Europe.
The decisive second round of the voting for the final Top 10 will be launched next week by Standart's chief editor Slavka Bozukova. The voting will continue until the end of October, when the winner, thus the most significant Bulgarian archeological site of the new millennium, will be announced on a special ceremony.
