Grigor Dimitrov Saves 3 Match Balls to Defeat Harrison in Shanghai

Grigor Dimitrov

(October 11, 2017 Sofia) Bulgaria's best tennis player, Grigor Dimitrov, currently standing at number nine in the world, struggled with tooth and nail to snatch the victory from 46th-ranked Ryan Harrison of the United States in the second round of the Shanghai Masters Series tournament.

Their match lasted grueling 153 minutes and Dimitrov had to save three match balls and show some most ferocious character in the decisive tiebreak.

The Bulgarian lost the first set and his future did not seem bright in the second either – he was trailing behind with two to four games. Leading 3:6 in the tiebreak, Harrison seemed bound to win the match.

At this point Dimitrov started fighting back ferociously and he would not stop until he managed to completely turn the match around and eventually score a match ball.

This has been the first time that Dimitrov reaches Shanghai Masters round 3.
