Vladimir Koylazov (38) has been declared one of the winners of an Oscar Academy Plaque for scientific achievement for the original concept, design and implementation of V-Ray from Chaos Group.
V-Ray, Koylazov's brainchild, is a commercial rendering plug-in for 3D computer graphics software applications. It is developed by Chaos Group and can be seen in action in motion pictures such as Doctor Strange, Captain America: Civil War and X-Men: Apocalypse.
On January 4th, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that 18 scientific and technical achievements represented by 34 individual award recipients, as well as five organizations, will be honored at its annual Scientific and Technical Awards Presentation on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills.
Koylazov and his business partner Petar Mitev say it took them fifteen years of hard work to develop their product and put it on the market.
