Borisov Calls for Partnership and Understanding on the Balkans

Boyko Borisov andDenis Zvizdic

(Sofia October 27, 2017) -Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov is on a working visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina today.
In Sarajevo, Borisov has been holding talks with the President of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Zvizdic, with the presidents and vice-presidents of the two Chambers of Parliament as well as with the member of the Presidency Bakir Izetbegovic.

"No one can help us unless we all understand that the past should remain in the story and we have to look ahead," Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said at the joint press conference with Denis Zvizdic in Sarajevo.

"There can be no unresolved issues when a country starts its preparation for an EU membership and we must not be fooled to think that these can be resolved once the country in question becomes a member of the EU, " the Bulgarian Prime Minister stressed.

"There are some problems between all the countries of the Western Balkans that we have to resolve alone and EU assistance cannot be expected about this. One such problem is the radical Islam," he went on.

"Some true friends have come to visit us today and we welcome them with open hearts," said Bosnia and Herzegovina's Prime Minister Dennis Zvizdic.

"Economic cooperation between the two countries has got a lot of room for improvement," Zvizdic said, adding that he would increase his country's participation in various economic forums in Bulgaria.

"We discussed the idea of launching a Sofia-Skopje-Sarajevo airline and we named some air carriers that may show interest in the project," Zvizdic said.
The official delegation accompanying Prime Minister Boyko Borisov includes Deputy Prime Ministers Tomislav Donchev and Krassimir Karakachanov, as well as ministers Ivaylo Moskovski and Emil Karanikolov.
